I've been painting!

This is what I've been up to. Painting! This is a scene in Oregon. There were elks in the hills, and that incredibly gorgeous field of sunflowers and zinnias. I went to Oregon last summer with my son, and we had a most excellent adventure. Here are pictures of the painting in progress.

And I have been working on still lifes, too. But I still like painting landscapes the best.

I love the peaceful palette of the background colors of your blog. The painting is better than "real life" view. Blog also self formats well on iPhone

Sandy--
Didn't know you are an artist--you are a woman of many talents. I love the serene and comforting colors and i especially like that the barn is "peeking" through the wildflowers. Good perspective.

Thank you for sharing these images. The sunflowers are especially evocative given we have about 3 feet of snow in DC right now.

Love the use of light in this painting, and the subtle shading in colors.
